The waiting game...

OK, so if I wore only the clothes that fit me, I'd be looking like Carlton Banks all the live long day. I went into the bathroom at work to put on my belt (yeah, I ran a little late today), and noticed that my jeans looked like one of those Dexatrim commercials.

I stood in front of the mirror, grabbed the front (near the button) using my thumb, and continued to pull. It's not too drastic, but I could easily fit random things in there.

Now I sound like a shoplifter... lol

The issue is this: I'm not done losing all the weight I want to, but the clothes are telling me it's time to move on. But we all know a new wardrobe is not cheap.

What say you? Should I wait til I'm happy with my size, or should I drop it like it's hot on the credit card?

I say get some basics... like a pair of dress pants and a pair of jeans... the shirts u have should still be ok...

Just to motivate you... A self-reward that will allow you to appreciate your progress.

Definitely hit Old Navy or some other discount clothing joint and get a couple of inexpensive jeans, khakis and basic tops. This will hold you over until you drop all the weight you want...this will probably be repeated a few times until you're there. Just keep in mind that you don't want to drop so much that we lose the guy that has that healthy glow and "extras" that come with a little weight. For the record, don't know who you date, but we minorities like a little meat on the bones

Thanks for the tip, Cocoa, but I can't do Old Gravy. They don't make pants long enough... lol

I'm facing the same dilemma- a closet full of clothes that are either too small, or too big.

Buy some that fit. You'll look good in them and it will do amazing things for your confidence.

Stacy and Clinton would tell you the same thing...

Yeah what they said, buy a few basics to tied you over till you get where you want to be.

Lmao @ X with " livin everyday like it's your last "... that theory does not apply to finances.

I'd say buy one or two things -- just to kind of get you through. If possible - or if you really like your clothes now -- get them taken in. I did that with some skirts when I lost some weight a while back and it was so worth it (they were wool and the alterations only cost about $30 for two skirts). So patch up what you can, buy one or two things to make you look put together and make it work until you're willing (or able, we are on the cusp of a recession) to start rebuilding that wardrobe.

A new wardrobe is by no means cheap! Why don't you try buting a new outfit every week. Or 2 new outfits every paycheck! It doesn't all come out of your account at one time! I'm on my 2nd outfit and this friday, hopefully a third!

Okay D...you're extra on this one...all you can fit is slippers and lotion? You know that requires another post - with a follow-up post - with a few pictures to post - with a subsequent regimen post - with THE REVEAL - post....then hit Old Navy.

buy some things you would use regularly like everyone else is saying. don't buy an entire wardrobe.
